I am now officially the technology asset manager of the office. I actually unofficially had the position back in April. It's kind of weird... The paperwork for the promotion was submitted back in late April. However, it wasn't processed immediately because we didn't have an HR manager at the time. So the paperwork basically sat in limbo up until today. We still don't have a local office HR manager but my manager fought to have the paperwork processed by the divisional HR manager, rather than wait for the local HR manager. She had to go as far as the regional IT manager and the CTO. She's fucking cool as shit. What's even cooler about her though is that she also fought to have the pay raise retroactive as of the date the paperwork was submitted, which was back in April.

Muahahahahaha! C'mere back pay! Come to papa!


In other news, there are kids dumpster diving in our dumpster looking for network cabling. So far I see they have gathered at least five 100 foot bundles. Are they looking to sell used bundles of network cables? Or are they going to wire the clubhouse for broadband?
